Compton Hill Water Tower
April 03, 2010... Compton Hill Water Tower

Located in St. Louis, Missouri, near the intersection of Grand and Highway 44. Also, just blocks away from the famous Missouri Botanical
Garden. I have driven by this tower for years, but never set food on the grounds surrounding it. Cannot tell you that I know why, just did not
happen. Then, yesterday, April 02, 2010, I got word that my photo club was planning to meet there and tour the inside of the tower.. I would
learn when I arrived that the tower is now open to the public on the first Saturday of each month, no matter what the weather.. There is a 5
dollar charge to get inside, and you have to climb almost 200 steps to get to the top. It is worth every step of energy you use getting to the
top. I was there when the doors opened at 12 noon. I climbed to the top, an had perfect views of the city, in all directions, as the weather
was near perfect, no haze. Also, there were great photo opportunities inside the tower. The tower is open from noon to 4:00 PM. I took my
photos and climbed down at 1:00 PM. I wondered the park area for a few minutes and headed home to process the images taken.. To see
the ones I am sharing, click
here. I think you will enjoy. Also, it you want more info on the tower and surrounding park, go to:

This is more than a website of photos, it is a place to
share photos, adventures, stories, opinions, and
information. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.
